The next generation of tech talent – Ella Finazzi.
With skills shortages in the tech sector becoming a genuine problem over the last few years, Apprenticeships have never been more critical. Apprentices bring fresh talent, new skills and enthusiasm to the industry that’s vital for its survival and growth. TechCare understands how valuable Apprenticeships can be in the workplace and is dedicated to taking Apprentices on regularly, supporting them and helping them to learn on the job. Here we speak to TechCare IT Apprentice, Ella Finazzi.
Can you tell us a little about your role?
I’ve only just started, so at the moment, I’m doing technical admin work, which includes sorting out purchase orders, requesting quotes from suppliers and sending quotes out to clients.
What’s your background, and what led you to TechCare?
To be honest, I don’t have a background in tech. I was doing my A-levels, but I wasn’t enjoying it. Then I saw a Facebook post from TechCare about Apprenticeship opportunities. I liked the sound of it, so I thought I’d give it a try!
Is there anything you really love about tech?
I do watch a lot of videos of people putting computers together, and it’s really satisfying to see all the parts going in and then it all coming together at the end. I really love it; it’s like a jigsaw puzzle – really brilliant!
Is there anything you’d like to do in the future? What are you aiming for?
That’s a big question as I’m only 16, but I’d really like to be in a position with a good work/home life balance. I want to be able to do my work and then go home to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.
And lastly, what tech gadget could you not live without?
