If you’re looking for someone who knows their way around IT, look no further than James

Joining the team as a 2nd line engineer, James is part of an expanding team responsible for keeping everything running smoothly for our customers – no mean feat in today’s always-connected world.

We caught up with James as part of our spotlight series to find out about his role, background and what he hopes his future with TechCare holds.

You’ve just joined TechCare, but can you tell us a little about your role and what it involves?

My role as 2nd Line Support Technician focusses on resolving issues with a huge focus on customer service. I take pride in my work and always aim to provide a prompt and satisfactory solution. I work closely with the team to achieve the best results which I find very rewarding.

What’s your background, and what led you to TechCare?

I started my working life as an Apprentice Infrastructure Technician on the technical escalation desk at Stone Group just after turning 17. After nearly 3 years on the desk, focussing on providing managed services for schools and businesses with hyper-converged and high availability solutions, I decided to change my focus to the cloud which is where TechCare came in!

Have you always been interested in tech?

What’s not to love about tech? (When it’s working that is!) There are endless possibilities now and one of my main interests recently has been the introduction of the Metaverse as well as NFTs. There are always huge developments nowadays which keeps tech enthusiasts on their toes.

Is there anything you’d like to do in the future? What are you aiming for?

I’m open to all opportunities given to me and that will never change. I am constantly striving to be the best version of myself wherever that takes me. At the moment, I’m not dead set on a specific goal but at 19, I’m sure that will change in due time.

And lastly, what tech gadget could you not live without?

A good pair of headphones! I’m listening to all sorts of music all the time and love going to gigs/tours.
