At Techcare, we’re proud to call South Staffordshire home. Since 2008, we’ve grown from a small, local IT provider into a trusted partner for businesses across the region.

Techcare begun as a B2C laptop/phone repair shop in Burntwood. Over the years, our services have developed into a fully-fledged B2B managed service provider offering IT consultancy, cybersecurity, IT support, and network installation services. This growth has only been possible because of the community around us.

That’s why giving back isn’t a side project for us. It’s part of who we are. Whether it’s supporting local events, helping organisations stay cyber safe, or investing in future talent, we believe local businesses thrive when they lift each other up.

Here are five ways Techcare supports the local business community—and why it matters.

Championing local events and organisations

We actively support events that bring the community together.

In 2024, Techcare sponsored a competed in a running event at local Alton Towers, encouraging health, connection and fundraising amongst employees and the local area.

We also sponsor local sports teams Chasetown Football Club and Lichfield Ladies Rugby Club, supporting young people across the area. Chasetown Football Club in particular does some amazing work for the Burntwood area and beyond, with football teams for all ages, genders, and abilities.

Techcare supports the local Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce, within the wider Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, and regularly attends awards evenings and other networking events.

By investing our time and resources into local initiatives, we help create opportunities for businesses to collaborate, learn, and build stronger relationships.

Providing high-quality IT support for local SMEs

Small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of the Midlands economy. But many face daily technology challenges that limit growth, productivity, and security.

Techcare supports local organisations with dependable, people-first Managed IT Support, ensuring they have the tools, guidance, and proactive protection needed to operate confidently. From manufacturing firms to construction companies, our goal is to make enterprise-level IT accessible to local businesses to help them scale.

Better technology = better business outcomes = a stronger local economy.

Helping local businesses stay cyber secure

Cyber threats don’t discriminate by company size, and SMEs are increasingly targeted.

Through workshops, webinars, face-to-face consultancy, and helpful online resources, we educate businesses on the dangers of phishing, ransomware, and data loss. Our free and low-cost assessments help organisations understand their risks and where to improve, while our fully managed cybersecurity services strengthen defences long-term.

When local businesses are secure, the whole community benefits.

Investing in local talent and career development

The South Staffordshire area doesn’t always get the investment that it deserves, and that means that commuting to larger towns or cities isn’t out of the ordinary for local people. Techcare is keen to invest in local people, offering opportunities for young people in the form of apprenticeships or work experience.

Our apprenticeship programme has helped young people across Staffordshire launch tech careers, including team members who’ve grown from trainees into leaders. We continue to invest in skills, training, and career progression so our team can deliver exceptional service to local businesses.

But it’s not all about business growth. It’s about building a stronger local talent pool and inspiring the next bunch of tech professionals.

Supporting local causes and giving back through charity

Community impact goes beyond technology. Every year, we participate in local charity initiatives, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns.

In both 2023 and 2024, we completed a Moonlight Marathon Walk over Cannock Chase. As the name suggests, it was a 26-mile walk over Cannock Chase throughout the night. In 2023, we raised £1000 for South Staffordshire Network for Mental Health, and in 2024 we raised £2000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

This year, we continued raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, but this time completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks. We’ve also joined Crown Highways’ annual charity football match at Chasetown Football Club with several other local companies.

From raising money for important causes to volunteering time and resources, we’re committed to making a meaningful difference in the places where our team lives and works.
